Frequently asked questions
Do you have chairs that stack and store?
Yes. Several families stack. Stacking carts aren’t standard, but we can custom-make them on request so volunteers can move a room quickly.
Do you offer stacking chairs that link together for rows?
Our standard stacking chairs don’t include ganging (linking) hardware, but we can customize a product to meet that need. Tell your Designform rep how your space is set up, including row layouts, how often you reconfigure and storage needs, and we’ll recommend the right option.
Can you work within a building-committee budget?
Your rep will show you where the line has value options and where it is worth spending — frames and finishes can be mixed to hit a number.
Do you sell direct to a church?
Yes. Churches, community centers and civic buildings are commercial projects, so we sell to them directly or through your contractor or designer. Your rep will handle the order.
How is your furniture built?
For strength and long-term durability. Most of our wood chairs and stools use mortise-and-tenon joinery with very few bolted connections, and our metal frames are fully welded instead of bolted together. Every seating piece is assembled at our factory, so it’s built correctly before it ships.
What weight are your chairs tested to?
Every Designform product is tested to 400 lbs. Most of our frames have also been tested to and meet ANSI/BIFMA X5.41, the large-occupant seating standard. If your project needs a specific rating, we can test a product to your requirement.
What are your lead times?
Quick Ship items that are pre-finished, assembled and available only as shown can ship in as soon as 2–3 days of order and payment. Quick Ship items with a choice of stain or upholstery options usually take 2–6 weeks, depending on the product; if you have a rush project, let us know and we’ll see what we can do. Custom orders typically take 14–20 weeks, and many custom products can be rushed and delivered in 8–10 weeks. If you need something sooner, ask your Designform rep and we’ll see whether we can meet your timeline.
Do you have a minimum order?
Our minimum order is typically 4 pieces. If you need fewer, ask your Designform rep and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
What’s your warranty?
All Designform products are commercially rated. Finishes and upholstery are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for 1 year from the shipment date, and the structural integrity of the frame is covered for 3 years. Coverage assumes normal commercial use and regular maintenance, including keeping bolts and hardware tight. If a product is defective, send written notice and photos within 30 days of noticing the issue and we’ll repair or replace it. See full warranty terms.
Does furniture arrive assembled?
Yes. All seating is assembled at our factory and arrives ready to use. Tables ship with tops and bases packaged separately; attaching each base to its top is quick, and we include all the hardware you need.
