A mall seat is used by strangers, all day, with nobody watching it. It gets stood on, dragged, spilled on and left in the sun under a skylight. Shopping-center seating is one of the quietest and largest parts of our business: Designform has supplied close to 600 mall and center projects since 2012.
We furnish the common-area lounges, the food court, the food hall and the outlet-center dining terrace — usually working with the center’s furniture and installation partner rather than the tenant.
Bolt-down and free-standing chairs and stools, cast-iron bases in dining, counter and bar heights, and communal tables. Specified for continuous public use and easy parts replacement.

Yes. Bolt-down chairs, stools and cast-iron bases are standard options, and the usual specification for food courts.
In most cases yes. We keep the original spec and can match or closely match frames and finishes for phased replacement.
Yes — that is how most of this work runs. We sell through sales representatives to businesses, designers and purchasing firms, including center furniture programs.
For strength and long-term durability. Most of our wood chairs and stools use mortise-and-tenon joinery with very few bolted connections, and our metal frames are fully welded instead of bolted together. Every seating piece is assembled at our factory, so it’s built correctly before it ships.
Every Designform product is tested to 400 lbs. Most of our frames have also been tested to and meet ANSI/BIFMA X5.41, the large-occupant seating standard. If your project needs a specific rating, we can test a product to your requirement.
Quick Ship items that are pre-finished, assembled and available only as shown can ship in as soon as 2–3 days of order and payment. Quick Ship items with a choice of stain or upholstery options usually take 2–6 weeks, depending on the product; if you have a rush project, let us know and we’ll see what we can do. Custom orders typically take 14–20 weeks, and many custom products can be rushed and delivered in 8–10 weeks. If you need something sooner, ask your Designform rep and we’ll see whether we can meet your timeline.
Our minimum order is typically 4 pieces. If you need fewer, ask your Designform rep and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
All Designform products are commercially rated. Finishes and upholstery are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for 1 year from the shipment date, and the structural integrity of the frame is covered for 3 years. Coverage assumes normal commercial use and regular maintenance, including keeping bolts and hardware tight. If a product is defective, send written notice and photos within 30 days of noticing the issue and we’ll repair or replace it. See full warranty terms.
Periodically check that any bolts, screws and hardware are tight so each piece keeps performing as designed. Wipe metal and wood with a soft, slightly damp cloth, and avoid chemicals, abrasives and harsh cleaners, which can damage finishes and upholstery and aren’t covered under warranty. See our Care Guide for material-specific instructions.
