Lounge Chairs and Sofas for Hotels, Lobbies and Lounges

Lounge seating is what guests remember from a lobby, a club room or a hotel bar. Designform builds lounge chairs, settees, sofas and ottomans on hardwood and steel frames with commercial foam and upholstery, backed by a 3-year structural frame warranty and testing to 400 lbs.

Planning a lounge group

  • Scale. Check seat height and depth against the use: lower and deeper for cocktail lounges, higher and firmer where guests stand up often, such as senior living and waiting areas.
  • Grouping. Two chairs and a small table fit most lobby alcoves; settees and sofas anchor larger rooms and amenity floors.
  • Upholstery. In-house fabrics and faux leathers or your own COM/COL, most rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs, meeting CAL TB 117-2013. Bleach-cleanable vinyls are available on request.
  • Swivel and motion. Available on selected frames.

Commercial Lounge Chairs and Sofas

Lounge seating sets the tone in a hotel lobby, a cocktail lounge, a casino VIP room or a corporate amenity floor. It also gets heavier use than residential furniture is built for. Designform commercial lounge chairs and sofas use hardwood frames, commercial-grade foam that meets CAL TB 117-2013, and upholstery mostly rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. Frames carry a 3-year structural warranty.

Specifying lounge furniture

  • Seat height and depth. Lounge chairs sit lower and deeper than dining chairs, typically 16–18" high. Pair them with cocktail and side tables at 16–24" high.
  • Upholstery. Choose from our leathers, faux leathers and fabrics, or send COM/COL. We provide the yardage for each piece and can check your material against our records.
  • Groupings. Many styles come as a lounge chair plus 2- and 3-seater sofas, so a lobby can be furnished from one family. Examples include the Manhattan, Madison, Seaton and Sonoma families.

Minimum order is typically four pieces. Designers can download Revit and SketchUp files for many models, and we can prepare a 3D model or rendering of any product on request.
