Evans Lounge Chair

The Evans Lounge Chair is a compact, low-slung club chair with a solid wood frame and a deep upholstered seat. A single curved band of wood wraps around the back and flows down into flat, open arms, so the chair reads as a light, architectural frame holding a thick cushion. Squared legs and a low seat height give it a relaxed, mid-century attitude.

The open sides keep the Evans visually light, which makes it easy to group in pairs or fours in a hotel lobby, reception area or bar lounge without crowding the room. The generous 24" x 24" seat is roomy enough for lounging, and the wood is available in walnut, white oak, ash and beech along with stained finishes. Upholster the seat in leather, fabric or your own material to match the space.

Built for commercial use

The Evans relies on mortise-and-tenon joinery with very few bolted connections, like almost all of our wood products. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. Each lounge chair comes standard with heavy-duty nail-on nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, American white oak and American walnut, plus black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, and ashwood with light or dark walnut stain.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed finishes.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a broad range of standard and performance fabrics, including tweeds and textured weaves rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

For commercial use, specify fabrics rated at 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted. The Evans requires 1.67 yards or 22 square feet of COM/COL. Read more in our upholstery double rubs guide.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request.
