What weight are your chairs tested to? Do you offer bariatric seating?
Every Designform product is tested to 400 lbs. If your project needs a higher rating, tell your rep or send us a request and we will test the product to the weight limit you need. Most of our frames have also been tested to and meet ANSI/BIFMA X5.41, the large-occupant seating standard, and reinforced and wider bariatric versions are available on request. If your project needs specific testing on any product, let us know.
Are the fabrics cleanable with hospital disinfectants?
Yes. We specify vinyls and performance fabrics rated for bleach-solution cleaning, and moisture-barrier seat construction is available.
Can chairs be supplied with casters or glides for carpet?
Yes — front casters with rear glides is a common senior living specification and is available on request.
Do you meet healthcare furniture standards?
Frames are built to commercial contract standards. Tell your rep the standard your project is specified to and they will confirm which models meet it before you order.
Can you meet our facility’s upholstery requirements?
Yes. Healthcare and senior living projects often have very specific upholstery requirements, such as cleanability and infection-control standards. The best approach is usually to supply COM (customer’s own material) that meets your facility’s specifications, and we’ll upholster your seating in it. We can also provide bleach-cleanable vinyls and moisture-barrier seat construction on request.
How is your furniture built?
For strength and long-term durability. Most of our wood chairs and stools use mortise-and-tenon joinery with very few bolted connections, and our metal frames are fully welded instead of bolted together. Every seating piece is assembled at our factory, so it’s built correctly before it ships.
What are your lead times?
Quick Ship items that are pre-finished, assembled and available only as shown can ship in as soon as 2–3 days of order and payment. Quick Ship items with a choice of stain or upholstery options usually take 2–6 weeks, depending on the product; if you have a rush project, let us know and we’ll see what we can do. Custom orders typically take 14–20 weeks, and many custom products can be rushed and delivered in 8–10 weeks. If you need something sooner, ask your Designform rep and we’ll see whether we can meet your timeline.
Can I get samples?
Yes. We can send finish swatches so you can see wood stains, metal finishes and upholstery in person, and most chairs and stools are available through our Sample Loan Program for a sit test. Projects of 10 or more pieces receive up to two complimentary seating samples, with shipping covered both ways; for smaller projects, shipping and any sample charges are the client’s responsibility. Samples are a 60-day loan with a credit card authorization on file, and loan samples may show light cosmetic wear from previous use. Contact your Designform rep to request samples.
Do you have a minimum order?
Our minimum order is typically 4 pieces. If you need fewer, ask your Designform rep and we’ll do our best to accommodate your request.
What’s your warranty?
All Designform products are commercially rated. Finishes and upholstery are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for 1 year from the shipment date, and the structural integrity of the frame is covered for 3 years. Coverage assumes normal commercial use and regular maintenance, including keeping bolts and hardware tight. If a product is defective, send written notice and photos within 30 days of noticing the issue and we’ll repair or replace it. See full warranty terms.
How do I get pricing?
Contact your local Designform sales rep, or a project manager or project administrator in our office, for quotes, samples and lead times. We sell wholesale for commercial projects, to businesses, designers, purchasing firms and anyone furnishing a commercial space, but not for residential or personal use.
