Frequently asked questions
What weight are your chairs tested to? Do you offer bariatric seating?
Every Designform product is tested to 350 lbs, and most of our frames test to a much higher weight. If your project needs a higher rating, tell your rep or send us a request and we will test the product to the weight limit you need. Most of our frames have also been tested to and meet ANSI/BIFMA X5.41, the large-occupant seating standard, and reinforced and wider bariatric versions are available on request. If your project needs specific testing on any product, let us know.
Are the fabrics cleanable with hospital disinfectants?
Yes. We specify vinyls and performance fabrics rated for bleach-solution cleaning, and moisture-barrier seat construction is available.
Can chairs be supplied with casters or glides for carpet?
Yes — front casters with rear glides is a common senior living specification and is available on request.
Do you meet healthcare furniture standards?
Frames are built to commercial contract standards. Tell your rep the standard your project is specified to and they will confirm which models meet it before you order.
