Airport and Travel Dining Furniture

Request a Quote / Samples

An airport restaurant never closes, never has a slow season, and gets its chairs pushed by people dragging roller bags. On top of that, everything has to come through a badged loading dock on a schedule set by the airport, not by the contractor. It is a specialty, and we have been doing it since 2012.

Designform supplies airport concessionaires and their designers directly — HMSHost, OTG, Paradies Lagardère, SSP America and Delaware North among them.

Concourse restaurant and bar seating

Frequently asked questions

Can you meet airport delivery and badging requirements?

We ship to the concessionaire’s or installer’s schedule and staging location. Your rep coordinates dates with whoever holds the badge.

Do you offer bolt-down seating for concourse common areas?

Yes — bolt-down chairs, stools and cast-iron bases are standard options.

What finishes hold up in an airport?

Welded steel frames with commercial powder coat, Compact Laminate and solid-wood tops, and vinyls rated for heavy public use. Your rep can pull the test data for a specific spec.

How is your furniture built?

For strength and long-term durability. Most of our wood chairs and stools use mortise-and-tenon joinery with very few bolted connections, and our metal frames are fully welded instead of bolted together. Every seating piece is assembled at our factory, so it’s built correctly before it ships.

Does your upholstered furniture meet fire codes?

Yes. Our upholstered products, including foam and upholstery materials, meet California Technical Bulletin 117-2013 (CAL TB 117-2013), the flammability standard for upholstered furniture. If your project or local fire code requires additional testing or documentation, ask your Designform rep before ordering.

What weight are your chairs tested to?

Every Designform product is tested to 400 lbs. Most of our frames have also been tested to and meet ANSI/BIFMA X5.41, the large-occupant seating standard. If your project needs a specific rating, we can test a product to your requirement.

What are your lead times?

Quick Ship items that are pre-finished, assembled and available only as shown can ship in as soon as 2–3 days of order and payment. Quick Ship items with a choice of stain or upholstery options usually take 2–6 weeks, depending on the product; if you have a rush project, let us know and we’ll see what we can do. Custom orders typically take 14–20 weeks, and many custom products can be rushed and delivered in 8–10 weeks. If you need something sooner, ask your Designform rep and we’ll see whether we can meet your timeline.

What’s your warranty?

All Designform products are commercially rated. Finishes and upholstery are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for 1 year from the shipment date, and the structural integrity of the frame is covered for 3 years. Coverage assumes normal commercial use and regular maintenance, including keeping bolts and hardware tight. If a product is defective, send written notice and photos within 30 days of noticing the issue and we’ll repair or replace it. See full warranty terms.

Do you ship to Canada?

Yes. We deliver to projects worldwide, including throughout Canada. Quick Ship items are available to Canadian customers too, though crossing the border may add a few days to transit time.

How do I get pricing?

Contact your local Designform sales rep, or a project manager or project administrator in our office, for quotes, samples and lead times. We sell wholesale for commercial projects, to businesses, designers, purchasing firms and anyone furnishing a commercial space, but not for residential or personal use.
