An arm chair signals that guests are meant to stay a while, which is why they fill steakhouses, hotel dining rooms, club grill rooms and senior living communities. Designform arm chairs are contract-grade: mortise-and-tenon hardwood or welded steel frames, replaceable seats, and a 3-year structural frame warranty. All products are tested to 400 lbs.
Specifying arm chairs
- Fit to the table. Check arm height against your table apron so chairs tuck in. Every product page lists width, depth, height, seat height and seat size.
- Space per seat. Allow about 24" of table edge per guest, a little more for wide arm chairs.
- Ease of standing. In senior living and healthcare, choose a forward arm that residents can push off from; front casters with rear glides are available on request.
- Upholstery. In-house fabrics and faux leathers or your own COM/COL, most rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs; bleach-cleanable vinyls and moisture-barrier seats are available on request.
Lead times and samples
Custom orders run 14–20 weeks, many can be rushed to 8–10 weeks, and in-stock models ship in 2–3 days through Quick Ship. Minimum order is typically four pieces, and chairs arrive fully assembled. Ask your rep about a loaner sample for a sit test.
