The Edgar Arm Chair brings Scandinavian mid-century character to the dining room. Its signature feature is a wide, softly curved back that floats above the seat on two slender rear posts, paired with slim steel arm supports that sweep forward to carry wood armrests. The result is an open, airy chair that feels light in a room while still giving guests a comfortable place to rest their arms.
The frame is solid wood with a wood veneer seat and back, available in a range of American and European species and stains. Round, gently tapered legs and an H-pattern stretcher keep the base clean and stable. The Edgar Arm Chair belongs to a large family of matching side chairs and upholstered versions, and it appears in both our Alpine Lodge and Casino and Gaming collections.
Like almost all of our wood seating, the Edgar is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. The chair ships fully assembled from the factory and is covered by our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish warranty from shipment.
With arms and a 23.5" width, allow about 26–28" per seat at tables. Check that the 27.25" arm height clears your table apron. Our restaurant seating layout guide covers spacing and aisles.
Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light or dark walnut stain, American white oak and American walnut.
