Poly-Molded Outdoor Chairs: One-Piece Commercial Patio Seating

A poly-molded outdoor chair is a single shell of molded polypropylene or resin with the color pigment mixed through the material. That one construction detail is why these chairs outlast painted and upholstered patio furniture in commercial use: there is no coating to chip, no fastener to corrode, no joint to work loose, and a scratch reveals the same color underneath. Tested to hold up to 400 lbs, with a 3-year structural warranty.

What to look for in a commercial poly chair

  • UV stabilization, not just UV-resistant paint. Our poly-molded chairs are suited to year-round outdoor use; cheap resin furniture chalks and grows brittle in one season of direct sun.
  • Wall thickness at the stress points. Poly chairs fail at the seat-to-leg transition. A commercial shell is noticeably heavier in the hand than a consumer one.
  • Stack count. Most stack 6 to 10 high, which is what makes them practical for patios that have to be cleared quickly and for event overflow.
  • Drainage. Seats should shed water rather than pool it, so staff are not towelling chairs before service.

Maintenance is close to nothing

Hose them down, or wipe with mild soap and water. No wood to re-oil, no powder coat to touch up, no cushion to store, no hardware to retighten. For operators running a patio with a small team, that is usually the deciding factor — the maintenance cost of outdoor furniture over five years often exceeds its purchase price, and poly is where that curve flattens.

Weight, wind and pairing

These chairs are light, which makes resets easy and makes wind a consideration. On rooftops and waterfront patios, pair them with weighted or bolt-down table bases and choose a stackable layout so the patio can be secured before weather. Aluminum-frame options are available where more mass is wanted.
