Larsen Arm Chair

The Larsen Arm Chair is a mid-century classic in solid wood with an upholstered seat. Its signature is the sweeping curved top rail that wraps around the back and flows down into the arms, all carried on four slender, tapered legs. The result is a chair that feels sculptural from every angle, including from behind, which matters in open dining rooms.

The wide 21.25" seat and enclosing back rail hold guests comfortably, and the upholstered seat softens a long dinner. Specify it in walnut with leather for a steakhouse or hotel restaurant, or in oak or ash with fabric for a lighter, Scandinavian room.

Built for commercial use

The Larsen is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is backed by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): American walnut, American white oak, North American ash and European beech, plus black painted ash (open pore), ash with a light or dark walnut stain, and beech with a walnut stain.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from classic blacks, ivories and browns to rich cognacs, greens and distressed finishes.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in neutrals, warm browns, blues, greens and pebbled and glazed textures.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a broad selection of commercial fabrics and tweeds in neutrals and saturated colors, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

For commercial use we recommend specifying upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage required. See our upholstery double rubs guide for more detail.

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
