Layla Chair with Cord Seat

The Layla Chair with Cord Seat pairs the Layla's wide, curved back rail with a natural woven cord seat. The broad back wraps around the sitter and steps down into the arms, and the woven seat adds texture and a crafted, organic quality to the clean solid wood frame.

The cord seat has a little natural give, so it is comfortable without upholstery, and it develops character as it is used. In natural oak or ash it brings a relaxed, Scandinavian warmth to cafes and dining rooms; in walnut it feels richer and more formal. Use it alongside the upholstered Layla for rooms that mix seat types.

Built for commercial use

The Layla is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is backed by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Wood (Wood Option B): American walnut, American white oak, North American ash and European beech, plus black painted ash (open pore), ash with a light or dark walnut stain, and beech with a walnut stain.

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
