The Milano Chair is a solid wood arm chair with an upholstered seat and seat back and sculpted solid wood arms. Its curved, upholstered back wraps around the sitter like a shallow barrel, and slim wood arms sweep forward from the back posts to rest on the front legs. Tapered legs and a clean, low silhouette give it the relaxed sophistication of a classic mid-century dining chair.
The Milano is made for long, comfortable dinners, with a generous seat and arms that invite guests to settle in. Specified in deep leathers or rich fabrics against walnut, it fits naturally in steakhouses and hotel restaurants. Built from the best-quality hardwoods, leathers, faux leathers and fabrics, it is designed to break in over time and develop the patina of heirloom furniture.
The Milano is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and the foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is covered by our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nail-on nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.
As an arm chair just over 24" wide, plan about 26"–28" per seat at dining tables, and check that the 26.5" front arm height clears your table apron. Our restaurant seating layout guide covers table sizes and aisle clearances.
Wood (Wood Option B): American walnut, American white oak, North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, and ashwood with light or dark walnut stain.
Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed finishes.
Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in a broad palette of neutrals, blues, greens and warm tones.
Fabric (Fabric Option A): a large selection of commercial fabrics and tweeds, many rated 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.
For commercial upholstery we recommend specifying 75,000–100,000 double rubs; see our upholstery double rubs guide. COM and COL are accepted (minimums may apply), and we will give you the yardage.
