Kennedy Chair

The Kennedy Chair is a compact upholstered arm chair with a softly rounded back that curves forward into low, sloping arms. The arms start at 21" in front and rise to 26" at the middle, so the chair cradles the sitter while still sliding neatly under a dining table. Four solid wood legs, tied together with side stretchers, set the upholstered shell on a slim, grounded base.

The result is a chair that feels as comfortable as a lounge seat but sized for dining: 22" wide with an 18" x 20" seat. It suits hotel restaurants, private dining rooms and club dining, where guests linger over long meals. Pair a light fabric with a dark stained frame for contrast, or match leather to a walnut finish for a richer, classic room.

Built for commercial use

The Kennedy is built on a solid wood frame using mortise-and-tenon joinery with very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is covered by our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish and upholstery warranty, from shipment. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nail-on nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option A): teak (unfinished or oiled), oak, medium brown stained ash, European beech, ash in chestnut brown, ash in brushed antique cherry, natural ash, antiqued ash and American walnut.

Fabric (Fabric Option B): velvets plus a broad range of commercial woven fabrics rated 100,000–130,000 double rubs.

Faux Leather (Faux Leather Option A): a wide range of standard and deluxe faux leathers, including vintage and pebbled finishes.

Leather (Leather Option B): pebbled black, copper, pebbled lead, pebbled battleship, ash grey and vintage umber brown.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
