Montreux Chair

The Montreux Chair brings a touch of tailoring to the dining room. Its fully upholstered back is shaped with vertical channel stitching that runs from the seat to a softly curved top, and it wraps slightly around the sitter for a cozy, enveloping feel. A padded upholstered seat sits on a solid wood base with tapered legs and side stretchers, giving the chair a clean, mid-century-inspired stance.

The channel detail catches light beautifully in leather, especially in cognac or caramel tones on a light oak base, and it reads more relaxed in a textured fabric. With a generous 18.5" x 17.5" seat, the Montreux is comfortable for long dinners in hotel restaurants, private dining rooms and upscale bistros. A matching Montreux Stool carries the same look to the bar.

Built for commercial use

The Montreux uses mortise-and-tenon joinery with very few bolted connections, like almost all of our wood chairs. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory. The frame carries a 3-year structural warranty, and finish and upholstery are covered for 1 year from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): American walnut, American white oak, North American ash and European beech, plus black painted ash (open pore), beech with walnut stain, and ash with light or dark walnut stain.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from classic blacks, browns and grays to rich cognacs, greens and blues, including distressed premium hides.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in a broad palette of neutrals, browns, blues, greens and warm accent colors.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a wide range of contract fabrics and tweeds, including Fighter (130,000 double rubs) and Medley (100,000 double rubs) performance fabrics and other options rated 72,000–80,000 double rubs.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
