Abe Chair with Upholstered Seat

The Abe Chair with Upholstered Seat is a bistro-style ladder back chair in solid European beech. A gently curved top rail crowns four horizontal slats, and the open back gives the chair a light, airy look that keeps a dining room feeling uncluttered. Straight legs, joined by stretchers, carry a padded upholstered seat that adds comfort for longer meals.

It is part of our Classic Line and a versatile everyday chair for cafes, bistros, pizzerias and neighborhood restaurants. Pick a stain from walnut and mahogany to natural and ebony, then finish the seat in faux leather or COM. The Abe also comes with a wood seat, and coordinating Abe Stools let the same look carry to the bar. It is part of our quick ship program.

Built for commercial use

The Abe is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections, so it stays solid through years of restaurant service. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood stain (Wood Option E): walnut, tobacco, select cherry, rustic oak, natural, maple, mahogany, light cherry and ebony, all on European beech.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option C): a wide palette of commercial faux leathers from our Classic, Jackson and Glaze lines, covering neutrals, browns, blacks, blues, greens and bold accent colors.

For commercial use we recommend upholstery rated at 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM is accepted (minimums may apply), and we will provide the yardage for your selection. Read more in our upholstery double rubs guide.

This item is in stock in our quick ship program and ships within 2–3 days of order and payment, nationwide. Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks.
