Alford Chair with Wood Seat

The Alford Chair with Wood Seat is an all-wood dining side chair with the honest, familiar profile of a classic bistro chair. Its defining feature is the broad, gently curved back panel, a single wide piece of wood that wraps slightly toward the sitter and gives the back real presence from across the room. Below it, a solid wood seat sits on four round, slightly tapered legs tied together with stretchers for a clean, sturdy stance.

The frame is solid European beech, a dense, fine-grained hardwood that takes stain evenly and holds up to the daily churn of a busy dining room. With no upholstery to clean or replace, the Alford is a practical, low-maintenance choice for cafes, bistros, breweries and casual restaurants, and it develops a handsome patina as it breaks in. Built for commercial use

The Alford is built with traditional mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections, so the frame stays tight under heavy restaurant use. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. Like all of our seating, it ships fully assembled from the factory, ready to set in place. It carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish warranty from shipment. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nail-on nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood stain (Wood Option E): walnut, tobacco, select cherry, rustic oak, natural, maple, mahogany, light cherry and ebony. The deeper stains read warm and traditional, while natural and maple let the beech grain show through for a lighter, more casual room.
