Suter Chair

The Suter Chair is a compact upholstered arm chair with a soft, sculpted shape. Its padded back curves around the sitter in one continuous sweep and flows down into the arms, creating a cozy, tub-like embrace on a tailored scale. Below, a solid wood frame with slim, angled legs and open side rails supports the arms and gives the chair a light, mid-century feel.

With an upholstered seat and back in leather, faux leather or fabric, the Suter brings lounge-like comfort to the dining table without the bulk of a lounge chair. It suits hotel restaurants, private dining rooms and wine bars where guests linger, and it coordinates with the Suter Stool for matching bar and counter seating.

Built for commercial use

The Suter's solid wood frame is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections, the way furniture is made to last. It is tested to 400 lbs, tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nail-on nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option A): teak (unfinished or oiled), oak, medium brown stained ash, European beech, chestnut brown ash, brushed antique cherry ash, natural ash, antiqued ash and American walnut.

Fabric (Fabric Option B): velvets in rich colors plus durable Fighter and Medley textiles rated 100,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option A): a broad range of standard and deluxe faux leathers, from vintage and pebbled finishes to classic solids.

Leather (Leather Option B): pebbled black, copper, pebbled lead, pebbled battleship, ash grey and vintage umber brown.

COM: Customer's own material is accepted (minimums may apply), and we will provide the yardage.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
