Emerson Chair

The Emerson Chair is an airy outdoor arm chair from our Al Fresco line. Its shell is drawn in fine steel wire, with horizontal lines that curve around the back and sweep down into the arms, so the chair reads almost like a sketch in the air. Solid teak legs, capped where they meet the frame, ground the design with natural warmth, and a plush seat cushion makes it comfortable for long patio meals.

The cushion can be specified with optional quick dry foam and upholstered in Sunbrella or other outdoor performance fabric. The welded frame is powder coated in a range of smooth and textured finishes, from crisp white to black and anthracite bronze. The Emerson coordinates with the Emerson Stool and the woven Emerson Graph models, and it appears in our Coastal and Rooftop and Lobby and Lounge collections.

Built for commercial use

The steel frame is welded, not bolted, and paired with solid teak legs suited to outdoor use. As part of our Al Fresco line it is UV-resistant and built for year-round outdoor use. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. The chair ships fully assembled from the factory and is covered by our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.

Finishes and upholstery

Metal (Metal Option D): smooth and textured powder coats including white, taupe gray, mink brown, medium gray, brown caramel, black satin, black and anthracite bronze.

Cushion fabric (Fabric Option C): Sunbrella and other outdoor performance fabrics.

For commercial use we recommend specifying upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage for your material. Our upholstery double rubs guide explains what to look for.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
