Stella Grand Chair

The Stella Grand Chair is a larger, roomier take on the classic industrial bistro side chair. It keeps the formed steel construction, tapered square legs and tall curved back of the original Stella, but widens and deepens the seat to 16.75" x 16.5", giving guests more room to settle in. In a brushed metallic finish, as shown in the photo, it has a clean, understated industrial look.

The Grand is built from steel, can be used outdoors and stacks, so it handles dining rooms, patios and event spaces with equal ease. An optional upholstered seat pad adds comfort for long meals. Pair it with the Stella Grand Arm Chair at the ends of tables or in booths, or mix it with the standard Stella Chair where space is tighter.

Built for commercial use

The steel frame is welded rather than bolted, tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. It can be used outdoors as well as indoors. It stacks, and ganging hardware may be available depending on the chair. We do not stock stacking carts, but they can be custom made on request. It ships fully assembled and is backed by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish warranty from shipment. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.

Finishes and upholstery

Metal (Metal Option A): a broad palette that includes the Color Finish Series (matte or gloss solids such as black, white, charcoal, red, midnight blue, olive green and aqua, plus colors like warm gray, shadow blue, peacock and seafoam), the Metal Finish Series (matte gunmetal and brushed galvanized) and Premium Finishes (antique brass, brushed copper, dark bronze, rust patina and matte red rust). Custom powder coat colors are also available.

Upholstered seat pad (optional): an upholstered seat pad can be added for extra comfort. For commercial use, we recommend fabrics rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs; COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage. See our upholstery double rubs guide.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
