Houston Chair

The Houston Chair is a comfortable dining arm chair with a curved, fully upholstered back that wraps around the sitter and flows into the arms. The upholstered band rests on an exposed solid wood frame with straight, sturdy legs and stretchers, and a deep padded seat completes the look. It strikes a balance between the warmth of a wood chair and the comfort of a lounge seat.

With a generous 21" wide seat, the Houston invites guests to linger, which makes it a natural choice for steakhouses, hotel restaurants and club dining rooms. Choose leather or faux leather for a classic look or fabric for a softer feel.

Built for commercial use

The solid wood frame is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nail-on nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): American walnut, American white oak, North American ash and European beech, plus walnut-stained beech, light and dark walnut-stained ash and black painted open-pore ash.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed premium hides in deep browns, greens and reds.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in neutrals, earth tones, blues and greens.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a broad selection of commercial fabrics and tweeds, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

COM/COL: customer's own material is welcome (minimums apply), and we will provide the yardage.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
