Stella Low-Back Stool

The Stella Low-Back Stool gives the industrial bistro look a lower, more casual profile. Formed steel legs taper as they rise, footrest rails connect them, and a short curved backrest wraps just above the seat, enough to support the lower back without blocking sightlines across a bar or a room. In a dark finish, as shown in the photo, it has a rugged, worn-metal character.

Made from steel and meant for outdoor use, the Stella Low-Back works on patios and rooftop bars as well as inside. It comes in bar and counter heights, and the low back tucks neatly under a counter overhang. It coordinates with the rest of the Stella family, including the Stella Stool and Stella High Back Stool, so you can mix back heights along the same bar.

Built for commercial use

The steel frame is welded rather than bolted, tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. It is meant for outdoor use as well as indoors. It ships fully assembled and is backed by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish warranty from shipment. Each stool comes standard with heavy-duty nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.

Finishes and upholstery

Metal (Metal Option A): a broad palette that includes the Color Finish Series (matte or gloss solids such as black, white, charcoal, red, midnight blue, olive green and aqua, plus colors like warm gray, shadow blue, peacock and seafoam), the Metal Finish Series (matte gunmetal and brushed galvanized) and Premium Finishes (antique brass, brushed copper, dark bronze, rust patina and matte red rust). Custom powder coat colors are also available.

Upholstered seat pad (optional): an upholstered seat pad can be added for extra comfort. For commercial use, we recommend fabrics rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs; COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage. See our upholstery double rubs guide.

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request.
