Alessa Stool with Bolt Down Tulip Base

The Alessa Stool with Bolt Down Tulip Base is the fixed-installation version of our Alessa swivel stool. A round upholstered seat turns atop a steel pedestal that flares into a tulip-shaped foot, and a ring footrest circles the column. A rounded rectangular back pad on a single slim metal support offers light back support while keeping sightlines open along the bar.

Bolting the stool to the floor keeps bar lines perfectly aligned and prevents stools from wandering, which makes it a strong choice for diners, casino bars, stadium concourses and high-volume counters. It is offered in bar, counter and ADA heights, with optional wood detailing in ash, oak or walnut, and belongs to our Steakhouse and Alpine Lodge collections. These stools must be bolted to the floor and are not intended for freestanding use.

Built for commercial use

The steel frame is welded, not bolted, and the swivel returns to its home position. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. The stool ships fully assembled from the factory and must be bolted to the floor; please consult a licensed contractor for installation, as floor-mounting hardware is not included. It carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Metal (Metal Option A): our Color Finish Series powder coats in a wide range of colors, Metal Finish Series options such as matte gunmetal and brushed galvanized, and Premium Finishes including dark bronze, rust patina, brushed copper and antique brass.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option A): standard and deluxe faux leathers, including vintage and pebbled textures in browns, blacks, greens, blues and neutrals.

Leather (Leather Option B): pebbled black, copper, pebbled lead, pebbled battleship, ash grey and vintage umber brown.

Fabric (Fabric Option B): velvets in sand, rust, blues, teal, fern green, black and goldenrod, plus Fighter and Medley performance fabrics rated at 100,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

Wood detailing (Wood Option A): available only in ash, oak or walnut.

For commercial use we recommend upholstery rated at 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM is accepted (minimums apply), and we will provide the yardage for your selection. Read more in our upholstery double rubs guide.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample stools are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
