The Maris Stool is a bar and counter stool from our Al Fresco line, built on a powder-coated cast aluminum frame with woven rope detailing. A low, curved back rail wrapped in rope arcs around the seat and turns into short arms, so guests get support without the stool looking heavy at the bar. The open frame, straight legs and perimeter footrest keep the lines clean and architectural.
An upholstered seat cushion, with optional quick dry foam, sits within the frame for comfortable outdoor service. The light, crisp combination shown here suits coastal and rooftop bars, while darker frame finishes give it a sharper, more urban look. It is available in both bar and counter heights, so you can run it along an outdoor bar and a counter-height dining ledge on the same project.
Our metal frames are welded rather than bolted, and the Maris is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. The foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. As part of our Al Fresco line it is UV-resistant for year-round outdoor use. It ships fully assembled and is covered by our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Use the bar height with 40"–42" bar tops and the counter height with 34"–36" counters. With arms and a 23.5" footprint, allow about 26"–28" per stool. Our bar vs counter stool height guide and bar stool spacing guide have the details.
Frame (Metal Finish Option D): smooth and textured powder coats, including white, taupe gray, mink brown, medium gray, brown caramel, black satin, black and anthracite bronze.
Seat cushion (Fabric Option C): a selection of Sunbrella fabrics along with the Aprohdite and Cartenza fabric ranges.
Woven rope: white, black or taupe.
For commercial upholstery we recommend specifying fabrics rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs; our upholstery double rubs guide explains why. COM and COL are accepted, and we will give you the yardage for your selection.
Model codes: MARS-BS (bar), MARIS-CS (counter)
