The Floyd Arm Chair takes a classic schoolhouse silhouette and gives it a cleaner, contract-ready edge. A slim powder-coated steel frame forms the legs and continuous arms, and a molded wood veneer seat and curved back panel bring warmth to the dark metal. The result is a light, open arm chair that reads modern and a little industrial without feeling cold.
The steel arms rise from the front legs and loop back to the rear posts, giving guests a place to rest their elbows without the bulk of an upholstered arm chair. The veneer seat and back are easy to wipe down between seatings, which makes the Floyd a practical choice for busy dining rooms, hotel restaurants and taprooms. It coordinates with the rest of the Floyd family, including the upholstered-seat version and the Floyd Stool for bar and counter seating.
The Floyd frame is steel with welded, not bolted, joints. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and it ships fully assembled from the factory. The Floyd Arm Chair stacks, which makes it easy to clear a room for events or cleaning. We do not stock stacking carts, but they can be custom made on request. Every chair carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish warranty from shipment. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.
Because of the arms, plan about 26" per seat at tables rather than the standard 24", and check that the 26.75" arm height clears your table apron. Our restaurant seating layout guide walks through spacing and aisle clearances.
Metal (Metal Option B): matte powder coats including white, warm gray, silver gray, orange, dark gray (sand finish), black and army green.
