Portofino Chair

The Portofino Chair is an outdoor dining arm chair from our Al Fresco line that marries a solid teak base with a hand-woven rope back. The rope is woven in an open, diamond-like pattern that wraps from the arms around the back in a soft curve, framed by a slim outline, while four tapered teak legs give the chair a warm, grounded base. A plush seat cushion completes it.

The rope is available in white, black, taupe or grey, and the cushion in outdoor-grade fabrics with optional quick dry foam, so the Portofino can be tuned from relaxed and coastal to crisp and tailored. It is part of both our Al Fresco and Coastal & Rooftop collections and is right at home on terraces, rooftops and resort dining patios.

Built for commercial use

The Portofino is built on solid teak, a wood suited to outdoor use, with weather-ready woven rope. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. As part of the Al Fresco line, it is UV-resistant for year-round outdoor use. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.

Finishes and upholstery

Woven rope: white, black, taupe or grey.

Fabric (Fabric Option C): outdoor-grade cushion fabrics, including Sunbrella colors and a selection of Aphrodite and Cartenza fabrics. Optional quick dry foam is available for cushions that will see rain and pool splash.

For commercial use we recommend upholstery rated at 75,000 to 100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage for your material. Our upholstery double rubs guide explains the ratings.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
