Lange Arm Chair

The Lange Arm Chair is a clean, architectural dining arm chair with a solid wood frame and an upholstered seat and back. Its rectangular back panel floats between two straight rear posts, and slim open arms run forward to the front legs, giving the chair a calm, tailored silhouette that suits both modern and transitional rooms.

The 20" x 20" seat is generous for an arm chair, and the padded back panel supports diners through a long meal. Pair the frame in natural oak or ash with a light fabric for a Scandinavian feel, or choose walnut with leather for a richer hotel restaurant or private dining room.

Built for commercial use

The Lange is built for daily hospitality service, with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is backed by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): American walnut, American white oak, North American ash and European beech, plus black painted ash (open pore), ash with a light or dark walnut stain, and beech with a walnut stain.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from classic blacks, ivories and browns to rich cognacs, greens and distressed finishes.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in neutrals, warm browns, blues, greens and pebbled and glazed textures.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a broad selection of commercial fabrics and tweeds in neutrals and saturated colors, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

For commercial use we recommend specifying upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage required. See our upholstery double rubs guide for more detail.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
