The Smith Arm Chair with Upholstered Seat blends warm wood with a thin line of metal. A solid wood frame stands on tapered, splayed legs, a curved wood veneer back panel cradles the shoulders, and slim metal arms in black or brushed brass loop from the back down to the seat rail. A cushioned upholstered seat completes the chair.
The mix of wood, metal and upholstery gives the Smith a relaxed mid-century character that works across dining rooms, hotel restaurants and lounges. The arms add comfort for longer meals and a touch of polish to the profile. It is one of the most complete families in our line, with side chairs, stacking versions and stools that let you carry the look throughout a project, including the Smith Chair with Upholstered Seat and the Smith Stool with Upholstered Seat.
The Smith Arm Chair is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections, the way almost all of our wood seating is made. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.
For arm chairs, allow about 26–28" per seat, and check that the 28" arm height clears your table apron. Our restaurant seating layout guide explains spacing in detail.
