The Caboose Chair is a solid wood arm chair in the tradition of the classic captain's chair. A low, curved back rail wraps around the sitter and flows into the arms, supported by a row of turned spindles, and a cutout handhold in the top rail makes the chair easy to pull out and move. Below, splayed legs are tied together with double stretchers for a sturdy, grounded stance.
The seat is an upholstered pad finished with nail head detail, adding comfort and a touch of tailoring to an otherwise honest, timeless wood form. It belongs to our Steakhouse Collection and looks right in rooms with dark wood, leather and brass, but in a lighter oak or ash finish it reads just as well in a modern tavern or club grill.
The Caboose is built from solid wood with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year warranty on finish and upholstery from shipment.
With arms and a 22.75" width, plan about 26–28" per seat at the table, and check that the 26.75" arm height clears your table apron if you want chairs to slide under. Our seating layout guide has more spacing detail.
