Edgar Upholstered Arm Chair

The Edgar Upholstered Arm Chair is the most tailored member of the Edgar family. Both the wide, curved back and the seat are upholstered, giving the chair a soft, finished look, while slim steel arm supports sweep forward to carry wood armrests. Round tapered legs and stretchers keep the solid wood base light and open, so the chair feels generous without looking heavy.

The seat and back can be specified fully upholstered or as pads set into the frame, in leather, faux leather, fabric or COM. The wood frame is offered in American walnut, American white oak, ash, beech and several stains. It is a comfortable choice for longer meals and lounge-style dining, and it coordinates with the Edgar side chairs and other Edgar arm chairs in our Alpine Lodge and Casino and Gaming collections.

Built for commercial use

Like almost all of our wood seating, the Edgar is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections, so it stays tight through years of daily service. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. The chair ships fully assembled from the factory and is covered by our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light or dark walnut stain, American white oak and American walnut.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed premium hides in rich browns, greens and reds.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers, from classic black, white and tan to vintage, pebbled and glazed finishes.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a broad palette of standard and performance fabrics, including tweeds and textured weaves, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs. COM is accepted (minimums may apply).

For commercial use we recommend specifying upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage for your material. Our upholstery double rubs guide explains what to look for.

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
