Waltham Lounge Chair

The Waltham Lounge Chair is a modern take on the classic wingback. A tall, squared back rises to 39" with wings that wrap forward at the head, and the boxy upholstered body sits on short, tapered solid wood legs in a light finish. Shown in black leather, it has a tailored, almost architectural look, with crisp seams and a channeled back cushion that keeps the profile clean.

The high back and wings give guests a sense of privacy, which makes the Waltham a natural fit for lobby lounges, steakhouse bars, libraries and club rooms. Upholster it in leather for a traditional, clubby feel, or in fabric for a softer residential note in a commercial room. Frames are available in American walnut, American white oak, ash or beech. It belongs to both our Steakhouse and Alpine Lodge collections, and it anchors a fireside grouping or a pair of chairs flanking a side table.

Built for commercial use

The Waltham is built on a solid wood frame with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. The chair ships fully assembled from the factory. It carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light walnut stain, ashwood with dark walnut stain, American white oak and American walnut.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from neutral ivories, grays and blacks to cognacs, tobaccos and distressed finishes in deep greens, reds and golds.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a broad library of commercial fabrics and tweeds in neutrals and saturated colors, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs. COM is also accepted.

For commercial seating we recommend upholstery rated at 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted, and we will give you the yardage. Our upholstery double rubs guide explains the ratings.

Where it works

The Waltham suits hotel lobbies, country club lounges, private clubs and the bar lounge of a steakhouse. It appears in our Steakhouse Collection and Alpine Lodge Collection, and you can browse more in lounge chairs and sofas.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request.
