Madison High Back Chair

The Madison High Back Chair takes the Madison's mid-century lines and stretches the back upward for full head and shoulder support. A tall, softly padded back with a rolled top rises above slim, squared arms and a plump seat cushion, all set on tapered solid wood legs. It has the presence of a classic reading chair while staying trim enough for a hotel lobby or club room.

At 39.5" high and 31.25" wide, it is a statement chair for a fireside, a library corner or a quiet lounge. It coordinates with the Madison Lounge Chair and Madison 3-Seater Sofa. Specify the legs in American walnut, white oak, ash or beech and upholster it in fine leather or fabric.

Built for commercial use

The Madison High Back Chair is built on a solid wood frame with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is covered by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, American white oak and American walnut, plus black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, and ashwood with a light or dark walnut stain.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from onyx, ivory and chestnut to cognac, espresso and hunter green, plus a distressed series in tones like whiskey, bourbon and rust.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a large library of commercial fabrics and tweeds, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs, in grays, browns, blues, greens, reds and golds.

For commercial use we recommend specifying upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted (minimums may apply), and we will provide the yardage. Our upholstery double rubs guide explains the ratings.
