Dowel 2-Seater Sofa

The Dowel 2-Seater Sofa is a mid-century style loveseat with an exposed solid wood frame. Flat wood arm rails run the full depth of the sofa, resting on slim, tapered legs, while two seat cushions and two back cushions sit low within the frame. The open sides and low seat give it a relaxed, airy profile reminiscent of classic Scandinavian lounge furniture.

The low 14.5" seat height invites guests to lean back and settle in, and the wide wood arms are a natural place to set down a cup or a book. Built for commercial use

The Dowel is built on a solid wood frame using mortise-and-tenon joinery with very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light or dark walnut stain, American white oak and American walnut.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): an extensive library of commercial fabrics and tweeds in grays, browns, blues, greens, reds and brighter accent colors, with many selections rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from clean neutrals such as onyx, ivory and pewter to cognac, toffee, hunter green and a family of distressed finishes like whiskey, bourbon and hickory.

COM: customer's own material is accepted.

For commercial seating we recommend specifying upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs; our upholstery double rubs guide explains why. COM and COL are welcome, and we will give you the yardage required.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request.
