Soren Chair

The Soren Chair is a mid-century lounge chair with an exposed solid wood frame and generous upholstered cushions. Angled front legs and a raked back support carry a thick seat cushion and a tall back cushion, while open, sculpted wood arms sweep forward from the back and give the chair its unmistakable Danish-modern profile. The woodwork stays visible from every angle, so the frame finish becomes part of the design.

Spring and foam upholstered cushions make it a chair guests sink into, and the 21" x 19" seat leaves room to relax. It works on its own beside a fireplace or side table, in pairs across a coffee table, or with the Soren 2- and 3-Seater Sofas for a complete lounge. It belongs to our Lobby & Lounge, Alpine Lodge and Steakhouse Collections, which says a lot about how easily it moves between styles.

Built for commercial use

The Soren Chair has a solid wood frame built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and the foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is backed by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nail-on nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood frame (Wood Option B): American walnut, American white oak, North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, and ashwood with light or dark walnut stain.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from classic onyx, ivory and chestnut to richer and distressed tones such as cognac, bourbon, emerald and harbor blue.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in a broad palette of neutrals, browns, greens and blues, including vintage and glazed finishes.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a broad range of wovens, tweeds and textured fabrics in neutrals and color, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

For commercial use, specify fabrics rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted (minimums apply), and we will give you the yardage. Our upholstery double rubs guide explains the ratings.

The Soren Chair suits hotel lobbies and suites, resort lounges, clubs and corporate lounges and restaurant bar lounges. It is shown at Aloft in Louisville in the project photos on this page. Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request.
