Penny 3-Seater Sofa

The Penny 3-Seater Sofa is a low, long lounge sofa with a distinctly mid-century character. A clean, rectangular upholstered body sits between two open wood arms that curve up from the base and sweep back into the frame, giving the piece a light, sculptural outline from every angle. Tapered wood feet lift the body off the floor so it never feels heavy, even at more than seven feet long.

Built on a solid wood frame, the Penny seats three comfortably with a relaxed 16.5" seat height. It can be upholstered in leather, fabric or your own material, with the wood in a choice of ash, beech, white oak or walnut finishes. Pair it with the matching Penny Chair to build a complete lobby or lounge group.

Built for commercial use

The Penny's solid wood frame is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections, like almost all of our wood products. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light walnut stain, ashwood with dark walnut stain, American white oak and American walnut.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from classic blacks, browns and creams to rich cognacs, greens and distressed finishes.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a broad palette of commercial fabrics and tweeds, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

COM: customer's own material is accepted.

For commercial use we recommend upholstery rated at 75,000 to 100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage for your material. Our upholstery double rubs guide explains the ratings.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request.
