Dalton Lounge Chair

The Dalton Lounge Chair is a high-back, fully upholstered lounge chair with a sculpted, egg-like shell that curves forward into soft, rounded arms. A lightly tufted back panel and a plump loose seat cushion sit inside the shell, so the chair reads as one continuous form from every angle, and it rests on a polished stainless steel four-prong base that lifts it visually off the floor.

The tall back and enveloping sides give guests a sense of privacy, which makes the Dalton a natural pick for lobbies, lounges and reading corners where people settle in for a while. Upholstered in leather it has a warm, mid-century club feel; in fabric it softens into something more residential in spirit while staying fully commercial in build. It is part of our Alpine Lodge Collection and pairs well with low cocktail tables and side tables in wood or metal.

Built for commercial use

The Dalton is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. Its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013, and the polished stainless steel base is welded rather than bolted. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is backed by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

At 31" wide and 34" deep, the Dalton needs a little more floor space than a typical lounge chair, so leave comfortable walkways around groupings. Our restaurant seating layout guide covers clearances for lounge areas as well as dining rooms.

Finishes and upholstery

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from clean neutrals such as onyx, ivory and pewter to cognac, toffee, hunter green and a family of distressed finishes like whiskey, bourbon and hickory.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): an extensive library of commercial fabrics and tweeds in grays, browns, blues, greens, reds and brighter accent colors, with many selections rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

COM: customer's own material is accepted.

For commercial seating we recommend specifying upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs; our upholstery double rubs guide explains why. COM and COL are welcome, and we will give you the yardage required.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request.
