The Emory Lounge Chair is a calm, tailored lounge seat with a strong mid-century outline. A thick upholstered seat cushion and a tall, squared upholstered back sit on a low solid wood base with angled, sculptural legs and a crossbar, giving the chair a distinctive side profile and a sense of craftsmanship. The armless design keeps it compact and easy to group, while the deep seat invites guests to settle in.
The Emory looks soft and inviting in a pale fabric like the one shown, and equally at home in rich leather or faux leather. The wood base is offered in natural and stained ash, oak, beech, teak and walnut. Use a pair beside a fireplace, a row along a lobby wall, or several around a low table to create a relaxed seating group.
Like almost all of our wood seating, the Emory is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. The chair ships fully assembled from the factory and is covered by our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. Each lounge chair comes standard with heavy-duty nail-on nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.
Leave room in front of lounge seating for legs and a low table, and plan clear walkways around groupings. Our restaurant seating layout guide covers clearances and circulation.
