Chord Chair

The Chord Chair is a dining side chair with a back of three horizontal wood slats that run past the frame's uprights, a simple detail that gives it a crisp, graphic look. The slats are spaced apart so the back feels open and light, while an upholstered seat keeps it comfortable through a full meal. A slim steel frame with gently splayed legs and a low stretcher completes the clean profile.

Shown with a black frame, natural wood slats and a soft green seat, the Chord blends Scandinavian warmth with modern restraint. Custom powder-coat colors let you match a brand palette, and it coordinates with the Chord Bar Stool for a consistent look between dining room and bar.

Built for commercial use

The Chord's steel frame is welded rather than bolted. The chair is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty, plus a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Frame (Metal Finish A): a wide range of powder-coat colors from our Color Finish Series, metal finishes such as matte gunmetal and brushed galvanized, and premium finishes including antique brass, brushed copper, dark bronze and rust patina. Custom powder-coat colors are also available.

Back slats (Wood Option A): teak (unfinished or oiled), oak, American walnut, European beech, ash, antiqued ash, medium brown stained ash, chestnut brown ash or brushed antique cherry ash.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option A): standard and deluxe faux leathers in warm browns, blacks, blues, greens, teals and vintage finishes.

Leather (Leather Option B): pebbled black, copper, pebbled lead, pebbled battleship, ash grey and vintage umber brown.

Fabric (Fabric Option B): velvets in sand, rust, teal, fern green, starlight blue, royalty blue, black and goldenrod, plus performance fabrics rated 100,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

COM/COL: accepted (minimums may apply).

For commercial seating, we recommend specifying upholstery rated at 75,000 to 100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage. Our upholstery double rubs guide explains the ratings.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
