A hotel is not one furniture project. It is a lobby, two or three food and beverage outlets, a pool deck, a rooftop, meeting rooms and sometimes a spa — each with different traffic, different exposure and different people signing off. The properties that come out well are the ones that treat it as one specification with several zones, rather than several unrelated orders.
The most photographed furniture on the property, and the most abused by luggage. Guests sit for five minutes, not two hours, so seat comfort matters less than durability and how it looks from across a room. Mix seat heights: a lounge furnished entirely in low, deep chairs is hard for older guests to use. See lounge chairs and sofas and the Lobby & Lounge Collection.
Each outlet has its own concept, and they usually should not match each other exactly — but they should feel like they belong to the same building. The practical trick is to use the same frame family at different heights and finishes across outlets, so the property reads coherent and your reorder list stays short. See coordinating chairs and stools and our matching guide.
The harshest environment on the property: sun, chlorine, salt air and wind, plus wet swimsuits on the seats. Specify UV-resistant materials rated for year-round outdoor use — poly-molded, powder-coated aluminium, teak. Indoor wood frames must not migrate outside for the season; our warranty excludes wood used outdoors, and the failures are predictable. Pair light chairs with weighted or bolt-down bases. See outdoor chairs and stools and the Coastal & Rooftop Collection.
Specify stackable seating here without exception, and count your storage before you count your chairs — ballroom seating lives in a closet most of the year. Most of our stackable frames go 4 to 8 high. We do not offer stacking carts as standard, but they can be custom made on request, and it is worth asking at specification rather than after delivery. See stackable seating.
Three things get easier when a property is specified as one package:
We are a full-service supplier and can furnish every outlet on a property, and we review full project specs for custom work. Our current catalogue runs to 900+ products.
Hotel projects are where custom work is most common: a signature lobby piece, a banquette profile, a frame in a brand finish. We provide cut sheets, spec sheets, finish samples and shop drawings for custom products, and on request 3D models (IFC, Revit-compatible) and 2D CAD (DXF, AutoCAD-compatible) for your design team.
If the design team is supplying its own fabric, read our COM and COL guide first — production does not start until the material arrives, and that is the most common cause of a furniture package missing an opening.
Standard production is 14–20 weeks, rush to 8–10 weeks is available on many frames, and in-stock quick ship items leave in 2–3 business days. Add sample and approval time before that, and freight after it. We ship worldwide. Our lead times guide lays out a working backwards schedule.
