The Bowery Stool brings the supper-club look of our Bowery Chair up to bar and counter height. It has the same curved, fully upholstered back band and the same solid wood arms that sweep down into the front legs, so guests get the comfort of a real dining chair while they sit at the bar. The open back keeps a long run of stools from feeling heavy.
Each stool is built from American walnut, American white oak, North American ash or European beech and upholstered in leather, faux leather, fabric or your own material. A metal foot rest, in brushed stainless steel as standard or brushed brass as an upgrade, protects the front stretcher from wear and adds a warm detail at the bar. In real leather, the Bowery breaks in over time and develops the rich patina of heirloom furniture.
The Bowery Stool is made for the heavy daily use of hotel and restaurant bars. The solid hardwood frame is joined with mortise-and-tenon construction and very few bolted connections, so it stays tight through years of service. It is tested to 400 lbs and to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. Each stool ships fully assembled from our factory and is covered by a 3-year frame warranty. Each stool comes standard with heavy-duty nail-on nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet. It also comes standard with a stainless steel foot rest cover, available as an option in brushed brass or black brass.
Bar stool (BWRY-BS)
Counter stool (BWRY-CS)
Choose the bar stool for bar tops around 40–42" high and the counter stool for counters around 36" high. Because the Bowery has arms, allow about 26–28" of bar or counter run per stool. See our bar vs. counter stool height guide and bar stool spacing chart before ordering.
Wood (Wood Option B): American walnut, American white oak, North American ash, European beech, beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light or dark walnut stain, and black painted ash with an open-pore finish.
Upholstery: Leather Option A (standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed leathers such as Distressed Bourbon, Distressed Hickory and Distressed Whiskey), Faux Leather Option B, Fabric Option A, or COM (customer's own material). The photos above show the stool in several of our premium leathers on walnut and oak frames.
Foot rest: brushed stainless steel (standard) or brushed brass.
For commercial seating, specify upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. We accept COM and COL and will give you the yardage needed for each stool. See our guide to double rubs.
Model codes: BWRY-BS (bar height), BWRY-CS (counter height)
