Randell Chair

The Randell Chair is a contemporary dining side chair with a sculpted, shell-like back and a padded seat on a solid wood base. The back is formed in wood veneer and curves around the sitter, flowing down to meet the upholstered seat, while four tapered solid wood legs angle slightly outward for a light, modern stance.

Shown with a dark blue finish over walnut-toned legs, the Randell is easy to tailor: choose from a range of North American and European woods and stains, then dress the seat in leather, faux leather, fabric or your own material. It coordinates with the Randell Stool for bar and counter areas.

Built for commercial use

The Randell has a solid wood frame built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): American walnut, American white oak, North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, and ashwood with light or dark walnut stain.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed and richly colored hides.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): a wide range of standard and deluxe faux leathers in neutrals, browns, blues, greens and glazed finishes.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a broad selection of commercial fabrics, tweeds and performance weaves, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

COM: customer's own material is accepted (minimums may apply).

For commercial seating we recommend fabrics rated 75,000 to 100,000 double rubs or higher. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage. Learn more in our upholstery double rubs guide.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
