The SSB Series Round Steel Base is a commercial-grade table base specified for restaurant and hospitality floors.

Getting the height right

• Dining height — roughly 28–29" base height for a 29–30" finished table, paired with 18" seat height chairs.
• Counter height — roughly 34–35" for a 36" finished table, paired with 24–26" counter stools.
• Bar height — roughly 40–41" for a 42" finished table, paired with 29–30" bar stools.

Remember the top adds its own thickness. A 1 1/4" quartz top on a 28.5" base gives you a 29.75" table.

Sizing the base to the top

This is where most table problems start. The base spread has to be wide enough to stop the top tipping when a guest leans on the edge, and heavy enough that the table does not walk across the floor. A rough guide: a 22" base suits tops up to about 30" square or round; a 30" base suits tops up to about 36"; anything larger, or any stone or solid butcher block top, wants a bar-style or double-pedestal base. When in doubt, go heavier — a wobbling table is a complaint every service.

Shape and configuration

A round column and foot works well under round tops and in tight aisles, where a square foot catches feet and chair legs.

Practical notes

Tables ship with tops and bases separate and hardware provided; the customer attaches them. Specify levelling glides and check them at install — almost no restaurant floor is truly flat, and a levelled table on day one is worth a service call avoided later. Keep a few spare glides on site; they are the part that goes missing.

Standard production is 14–20 weeks with rush to 8–10 weeks available on many items; in-stock quick ship bases leave in 2–3 business days. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, smaller orders considered on request. We ship nationwide and to Canada.
