Street Chair with Upholstered Seat

The Street Chair with Upholstered Seat takes the minimalist steel Street Chair and adds a padded seat for extra comfort. The frame keeps its graphic profile: slim, slightly splayed legs, a flat seat base and a single central spine rising to a wide, flat back panel in a T shape. A crisp upholstered cushion sits on the seat, shown in a soft neutral against a white frame in the photo, for a light, gallery-clean look.

The upholstered seat makes this version better suited to full-service dining, where guests stay longer, while the frame stays as compact and easy to place as the original. Choose from matte powder coat colors or a custom color, and from leathers, faux leathers and commercial fabrics, or provide your own material. It pairs naturally with the all-steel Street Chair and the Street Stool with Upholstered Seat.

Built for commercial use

The steel frame is welded rather than bolted, tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. Foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled and is backed by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment. Each chair comes standard with heavy-duty nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet.

Finishes and upholstery

Metal (Metal Option B): matte white, matte black, matte warm gray, matte silver gray, matte orange, dark gray, matte dark gray (sand finish) and army green. Custom colors are available (minimums apply).

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed finishes.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in a broad range of neutrals and colors.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a wide range of commercial fabrics and tweeds, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

COM (minimums may apply): for commercial use, we recommend fabrics rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs; COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage. See our upholstery double rubs guide.

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request.
