Hurst Chair

The Hurst Chair is a clean, contemporary dining side chair that pairs a solid wood base with a softly upholstered seat and a wood veneer seat back detail. The seat and back read as one smooth, gently curved form, lifted on four slim, slightly splayed and tapered legs, so the chair looks light from every angle and tucks neatly under the table.

With a 19" x 17" seat and an 18.5" seat height, it is comfortable for full-length meals in restaurant dining rooms, hotel restaurants and clubs. The upholstery can be specified in leather, faux leather, fabric or COM, and the wood in species from American walnut to American white oak, so the same silhouette can read bright and Scandinavian or dark and tailored. It suits modern and mid-century inspired interiors and pairs easily with wood, stone or laminate table tops.

Built for commercial use

The solid wood frame is joined with mortise-and-tenon construction and very few bolted connections, so it stays tight through years of daily service. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and the foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is backed by a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light walnut stain, ashwood with dark walnut stain, American white oak and American walnut.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, from classic neutrals and rich browns to distressed finishes and saturated colors.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): an extensive range of standard and deluxe faux leathers, from black, white and grays to warm browns, greens, blues and glazed finishes.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a wide selection of woven fabrics and tweeds, with many performance options rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

COM/COL: customer's own material or leather is accepted (minimums may apply), and we will provide the yardage.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
