Transit Chair

The Transit Chair is a lean, industrial-modern stacking chair made from a powder coated steel rod frame with a wood veneer seat and back. The frame forms a continuous sled-style base at the rear and rises in two slim uprights to hold a flat, rectangular back panel, while the gently contoured seat floats on top. It is simple, graphic and warm all at once.

The wood veneer in walnut, natural ash or black ash is easy to wipe down and pairs with a black or white frame for a range of looks, from Scandinavian light to urban dark. The Transit stacks for storage, is in stock in our quick ship program, and coordinates with the Transit Stool and Transit Café Table.

Built for commercial use

The Transit's steel frame is welded, not bolted, for lasting rigidity. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards. It stacks for storage, and ganging hardware may be available depending on the chair. We do not stock stacking carts, but they can be custom made on request. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish warranty from shipment.

Lead times and ordering

This item is in stock in our quick ship program and ships within 2–3 days of order and payment, nationwide. Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
