Arbor Side Chair

The Arbor Side Chair is a classic Scandinavian-style dining chair with a wide, curved wooden back rail and an upholstered seat. The back is a single sculpted panel that bends gently around the shoulders, supported by two rear posts that rise from the legs. Below, slim solid wood legs and side and front stretchers give the chair a light, sturdy frame.

Its 20" x 16" upholstered seat and simple lines make it an easy fit for cafes, bistros, hotel restaurants and private dining rooms. In natural oak or ash with a soft fabric it feels bright and approachable; in walnut with leather it turns warmer and more formal.

Built for commercial use

The frame is solid wood with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections, so it stays tight through years of daily service. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and the foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and is covered by our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, American white oak and American walnut, plus black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, and ashwood with light or dark walnut stain.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed premium hides in rich browns, greens and reds.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): a broad palette of standard and deluxe faux leathers, from soft neutrals and grays to glazed blues and deep greens.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a wide range of commercial fabrics, including tweeds and performance weaves, many rated from 72,000 to 130,000 double rubs.

For commercial use, specify upholstery rated 75,000 to 100,000 double rubs; our upholstery double rubs guide explains why. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
