Edward Chair with Upholstered Seat

The Edward Chair with Upholstered Seat is a classic ladder-back dining chair with honest, familiar proportions. Four horizontal slats span the straight rear posts to form an open back that is easy to grab and move, while square legs and stretchers give the chair a solid, planted stance. It is the kind of dependable, good-looking chair that suits pubs, family restaurants, diners and hotel cafes equally well.

The frame is solid European beech, offered in stains from natural and maple to walnut, mahogany and ebony, and the seat is upholstered in faux leather or COM for everyday comfort. Because the Edward is part of our quick ship program, it is a practical pick for fast openings and replacement orders. It coordinates with the Edward Bar Stool and the wood-seat Edward Chair for a matched look throughout a space.

Built for commercial use

Like almost all of our wood seating, it is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections, so it stays tight through years of daily service. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. The chair ships fully assembled from the factory and is covered by our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option E): stains on solid European beech, including walnut, tobacco, select cherry, rustic oak, natural, maple, mahogany, light cherry and ebony.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option C): a wide range of Classic, Jackson and Glaze series faux leathers, from warm neutrals and saddle browns to deep reds, blues and greens. COM is accepted (minimums may apply).

For commercial use we recommend specifying upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage for your material. Our upholstery double rubs guide explains what to look for.

This item is in stock in our quick ship program and ships within 2–3 days of order and payment, nationwide. Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
