Miller Metal Chair

The Miller Metal Chair is the all-metal version of our mid-century school chair. The steel frame keeps the classic tapered, outward-flared rear legs, and the curved back and contoured seat are formed from aluminum, so the whole chair can be powder coated in a single color for a clean, graphic look. In a bold red or yellow it becomes a statement piece; in black, white or gunmetal it is crisp and understated.

The metal seat and back make it easy to wipe down between turns, which suits busy counters, cafes and fast casual dining rooms. It shares its proportions with the wood and upholstered Millers, so you can mix versions across a space while keeping one consistent silhouette, and pair it with the matching Miller bar and counter stools.

Built for commercial use

The steel frame is welded rather than bolted for lasting strength. The chair is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and it ships fully assembled from the factory. The frame carries a 3-year structural warranty, with the finish covered for 1 year from shipment. It is also listed among our outdoor chairs; talk with us about finish choices for exterior settings.

Finishes and upholstery

Metal (Metal Finish A): our Color Finish Series in matte or gloss colors (black, white, charcoal, red, orange, yellows, greens, blues, pink and more), Metal Finish Series options such as matte gunmetal and brushed galvanized, and Premium Finishes including dark bronze, rust patina, brushed copper, antique brass and matte red rust. Custom powder coat colors are also available.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
