Simone Chair

The Simone Chair is a lean, modern side chair built around a slender steel frame. Thin round legs angle slightly outward, two uprights rise from the rear to carry a curved wood back rail, and a padded upholstered seat rests on the frame below. It is a spare, graphic design with a mid-century feel, where the wood back and the metal finish do most of the talking.

Because the back is a single band of wood rather than a full panel, the Simone keeps sightlines open across a dining room or along a window wall. Mix a warm metal finish with oak or walnut for a soft, residential warmth, or go matte black with a dark veneer for a sharper, urban look. The seat can be upholstered in leather, faux leather, velvet or COM.

Built for commercial use

The Simone frame is welded rather than bolted, like all of our metal seating. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Metal (Metal Option A): a broad color finish series in matte or gloss, metal finishes such as matte gunmetal and brushed galvanized, and premium finishes including dark bronze, rust patina, matte red rust, brushed copper and antique brass.

Wood (Wood Option C): walnut, white oak, red oak, oak, black oak, antiqued willow, antiqued rubber and antiqued maple.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option A): a wide range of standard and deluxe faux leathers, including vintage and pebbled finishes.

Leather (Leather Option B): pebbled black, copper, pebbled lead, pebbled battleship, ash grey and vintage umber brown.

Fabric (Fabric Option B): velvets in colors such as sand, rust, teal and goldenrod, plus heavy-duty Fighter and Medley textiles. COM is also accepted (minimums apply).

For customer-supplied material, we recommend specifying a commercial-grade textile rated at 75,000–100,000 double rubs. We accept COM and COL and will give you the exact yardage. See our upholstery double rubs guide for more.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
