Elaine Chair

The Elaine Chair is a traditional ladder-back dining chair with a comfortable upholstered seat. Gently curved horizontal slats span the straight rear posts, giving the back a classic, open look and a natural handhold for staff and guests. Square legs and stretchers keep the frame steady and solid, and the overall proportions feel familiar and welcoming in casual and classic dining rooms.

The frame is solid European beech, offered in stains from natural and maple to cherry, mahogany, walnut and ebony, and the seat is upholstered in faux leather or COM. Because the Elaine Chair is part of our quick ship program, it is a smart choice when an opening date is close or replacement chairs are needed fast. It coordinates with the Elaine Bar Stool and the wood-seat Elaine Chair.

Built for commercial use

Like almost all of our wood seating, the Elaine is built with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections, so it stays tight through years of daily service. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. The chair ships fully assembled from the factory and is covered by our 3-year frame structural warranty and 1-year finish and upholstery warranty from shipment.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option E): stains on solid European beech, including walnut, tobacco, select cherry, rustic oak, natural, maple, mahogany, light cherry and ebony.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option C): a wide range of Classic, Jackson and Glaze series faux leathers, from warm neutrals and saddle browns to deep reds, blues and greens. COM is accepted (minimums may apply).

For commercial use we recommend specifying upholstery rated 75,000–100,000 double rubs. COM and COL are accepted, and we will provide the yardage for your material. Our upholstery double rubs guide explains what to look for.

This item is in stock in our quick ship program and ships within 2–3 days of order and payment, nationwide. Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample chairs are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
