Caren Stool

The Caren Stool is a backless solid wood stool with a softly curved, saddle-style upholstered seat. The seat dips gently in the middle and rises at the edges, and it sits on four slightly splayed wood legs connected by stretchers that give guests a place to rest their feet.

It has a clean, mid-century character: compact and uncluttered enough to tuck fully under a bar or counter, yet more comfortable than a hard seat thanks to the shaped cushion. Pair a walnut, oak, ash or beech frame with leather, faux leather, fabric or your own material, from a classic black leather to a warm tweed. The Caren comes in bar and counter heights.

Built for commercial use

The Caren is solid wood with mortise-and-tenon joinery and very few bolted connections. It is tested to 400 lbs and tested internally to meet ANSI/BIFMA standards, and its foam and upholstery meet CAL TB 117-2013. It ships fully assembled from the factory and carries a 3-year frame structural warranty and a 1-year warranty on finish and upholstery from shipment. Each stool comes standard with heavy-duty nail-on nylon glides, suitable for most commercial floor types, including hardwood, tile, stone, concrete and carpet. It also comes standard with a stainless steel foot rest cover, available as an option in brushed brass or black brass.

Finishes and upholstery

Wood (Wood Option B): North American ash, European beech, black painted ash (open pore), beechwood with walnut stain, ashwood with light or dark walnut stain, American white oak and American walnut.

Leather (Leather Option A): a wide range of standard, deluxe and premium leathers, including distressed finishes.

Faux leather (Faux Leather Option B): standard and deluxe faux leathers in a broad palette.

Fabric (Fabric Option A): a large selection of commercial fabrics and tweeds.

COM: customer's own material is accepted (minimums may apply), and we will give you the yardage.

Lead times and ordering

Standard production is 14–20 weeks, and most orders can be rushed to 8–10 weeks. Minimum order is typically 4 pieces, and smaller orders are considered on request. Sample stools are available for sit tests through our sample loan program.
